1. Introduction

Madhappy, Inc. (“Madhappy”, “our”, “we”, or “us”) maintains www.madhappy.com and related Madhappy online services (the “Site”). We along with our advertising partners use a variety of technologies to learn more about how people use our Site. You can find more information about the technologies we use and how to control them in the information below.

2. Cookies, Other Tracking Technologies, And How We Use Them

Madhappy, similar to numerous other companies, employs Cookies and other Tracking technologies on our Site. These technologies may include, but are not limited to, HTTP cookies, HTML5, Flash local storage, web beacons/GIFs, embedded scripts, and e-tags/cache browsers as explained below.

Cookies may be used by us for various purposes to improve your online experience. For instance, they can help remember your login status, save the items in your shopping cart, and recall your viewing preferences from a previous use of an online service for your convenience when you revisit that service. By interacting with our Site, you are agreeing to our usage of Cookies.

2.1 Use of Cookies And Tracking Technologies By Our Advertising Partners

The advertising networks and/or content providers that deliver ads on our Site may use cookies to provide their services based on their own privacy policies. These companies, their privacy policies and the opt-outs they offer can be found below.

2.2 Your Cookie Choices And How To Opt-Out

The option to accept or decline the use of Cookies is in your hands, and we've provided details on how to exercise this right below.

Typically, web browsers are preset to accept HTTP cookies. In most browsers, you can use the "help" option located on the menu bar to learn how to reject new cookies, get notified about new cookies, and deactivate current ones. Visit www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/ for additional information on HTTP cookies and instructions on how to disable them.

We do not guarantee the efficacy of these opt-out procedures. Californian residents, according to Section 22575(b)(7) of the California Business & Professions Code, may have the right to understand the outcomes of opting out. If successful, opting out will prevent targeted advertising, but will still permit the gathering of usage data for specific reasons such as research, analytics, and maintaining the operation of the Site.

Managing the HTML5 local storage on your browser varies depending on the browser you're using. You can typically find more details regarding your specific browser on its official website, often under the "Help" section.

However, it's crucial to understand that without HTTP cookies, HTML5, and Flash local storage, you might not be able to fully utilize all features of our Site, and some sections may not function correctly.

It's important to note that declining Cookies doesn't imply that you will stop seeing advertisements when you browse our Site.

5. Definitions

Cookies

  • A cookie, also known as a local storage object (LSO), is a data file that is placed on a device. Cookies can be created using various web-related protocols and technologies, including HTTP (referred to as "browser cookies"), HTML5, or Adobe Flash. To learn more about the third-party cookies we utilize for analytics, please refer to the cookies and tracking technologies table in our Cookies and Tracking Technologies Policy.

Web beacons

  • Also known as "1x1 GIFs" or "clear GIFs," are small graphic images or web programming code that may be present on the pages and messages of our online service. While web beacons may be invisible to you, any electronic image or web programming code inserted into a page or email can serve as a web beacon.

Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that function similarly to cookies. Unlike HTTP cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear GIFs are embedded discreetly within web pages and are approximately the size of a period at the end of a sentence.

Deterministic Finger-printing Technologies

  • If a user can be reliably identified across multiple devices, such as through logging into platforms like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, or Twitter, it becomes possible to "determine" the user's identity for the purpose of enhancing customer service.

Probabilistic Finger-printing

  • Probabilistic tracking relies on gathering non-personal data related to device attributes such as operating system, device make and model, IP addresses, ad requests, and location data. By employing statistical inferences, multiple devices can be connected to a single user. It's important to note that these connections are established using proprietary algorithms owned by the companies that conduct probabilistic fingerprinting. Additionally, it's worth noting that in the European Union, IP addresses are considered personal information.

Device Graph

  • Device graphs are generated by merging non-personal data concerning the usage of smartphones and other devices with personal log-in details. This combination allows for the tracking of content interactions across multiple devices.

Unique Identifier Header (UIDH)

  • The Unique Identifier Header (UIDH) is the address information that accompanies Internet (HTTP) requests sent over a wireless network provided by an ISP. For instance, when a customer enters a retailer's website address on their phone, the request travels through the network and reaches the retailer's site. This request contains various details, including the device type and screen size, enabling the retailer's site to optimize its display on the phone. The UIDH is part of this information and can serve as an anonymous means for advertisers to identify users belonging to a specific target group.

It's important to emphasize that the UIDH is a temporary and anonymous identifier that is included with unencrypted web traffic. To safeguard the privacy of our customers, we regularly change the UIDH. We do not utilize the UIDH for collecting web browsing information, nor does it transmit individuals' web browsing activity to advertisers or other parties.

Embedded Script

  • An embedded script refers to a type of programming code specifically created to gather information about your interactions with an online service, including the links you click on. This code is temporarily downloaded onto your device from either our web server or a third-party service provider. It remains active only while you are connected to the online service and is subsequently deactivated or deleted.

ETag, or Entity Tag

  • An ETag, which is a feature of the cache in browsers, is an opaque identifier allocated by a web server to a particular version of a resource located at a specific URL. Whenever the content of that resource at the URL changes, a new and distinct ETag is assigned. In this context, ETags serve as a form of device identifier. Even if the consumer blocks HTTP, Flash, and/or HTML5 cookies, ETag tracking can generate unique tracking values.

Unique Device Tokens

  • When users opt to receive push notifications in mobile apps, the app developer is furnished with a distinctive device token, which can be likened to an address. This token is supplied by the app platform, such as Apple or Google, to uniquely identify each user.

Unique Device ID

  • A unique series of letters and numbers associated with your device
